Hosting The Wiz Quiz

If your facility is located in the greater metropolitan area of Washington, DC, we can come to your site and conduct sessions of The Wiz Quiz. If you are outside of the DC metropolitan area, special arrangements may be negotiated.

• The hosting service includes prior consultation with facility management regarding scheduling, choice of a suitable room, and strategies for attracting participation.
• During The Wiz Quiz session, the host arranges participants in teams, provides sufficient questions for an activity that lasts about an hour, maintains an atmosphere of relaxed good humor throughout the session, conducts the activity according to the rules of The Wiz Quiz, and awards a prize at the end.

Staff Training, Certification, and Licensing

You may designate a member of your staff to receive training and certification as a host of The Wiz Quiz with accompanying authorization to conduct the activity at your facility. This option is the one that is most popular for facilities that are not located within the greater metropolitan area of Washington, DC. The training/certification option comprises the following services:

• Defining the competencies necessary for effective hosting of The Wiz Quiz, including explaining the science that supports the benefits of the activity, managing the multiple tasks involved in conducting the activity, anticipating and managing challenges that will likely arise, and maintaining a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
• Providing hosts-in-training with written materials, discussions, recorded examples of actual sessions of The Wiz Quiz, and coaching feedback.”
• Providing hosts-in-training with access to follow-up consultation and technical assistance during the first year of implementation.
• Licensing the facility’s use of The Wiz Quiz name and authorized questions of The Wiz Quiz.
• (Optional) Evaluating the implementation of The Wiz Quiz at your facility, including determining effective use of essential practices, and resident/participant perceptions of program impact.
